GONE TOO SOON
(from the book…
Body heart and soul a book of poetry)
Memories of your smile lingers in my mind
I’ve asked myself a thousand times why did you have to die?
So young, so full of life
I know you’ve gone on to be at rest
But that don’t make me miss you any less.
The air is still, absent is your laughter
You are gone too soon my sister
To a soothing place way up yonder
Now you can rest
And forget about all the stress.
You are dearly missed
But I know you’re spirit is flowing free
No more sorrows, I hope your heart is now filled with glee
You grew into a man with integrity
And I am proud to have known you
Because although life gave you grief and strife
You’re indomitable spirit never let you gave up on life
Gone too soon as a withering rose
But you are with God now I supposed
And as I stood here with a heavy heart
I know that our spirits will never be apart
There is nothing I can do to bring you back
Although, I would make a deal, even for a chat
There are no words I can say to alleviate the hurt
There are no answers I can give
But just to say please stay positive
There is not another person that can take his place
with such humility and utter grace
I can not promise that your hearts won’t break
And his lost will be hard to take
Your absent will left us shedding tears
And leave a hole in our hearts for many years
But although you’re gone too soon
Our love will stay with you forever and ever
Rest in peace (my cheri)
