To make yam porridge, cut enough slices of yams and pieces them into small chunks, add enough salt and put on fire to boil for about 10-12 minutes, once soft enough, add ground pepper and palm oil (plus other condiments you desire – like maggi, dry shrimps, dry fish, etc), then leave to cook again for about 4-5 minutes and then smash the by now very soft yam pieces to blend . . . Ready to serve !
