Lessons learned from my grandmother!

Happy 😁 Mother’s Day šŸ’šŸŒ¹

The ong lasting Ā Lessons That haveĀ  become important life lessons: What I Learned from myĀ  Grandmother.

There are lessons in life that aren’t taught in classrooms, written in books, or spoken out loud. They are lived. Passed down in silence, in sacrifices, in the way a woman carries herself when life gets heavy/burdensome.

The most important lessons I’ve learned didn’t come from lectures, they came from observing my grandmother.

She taught me strength, but not the loud, attention-seeking kind. Her strength was quiet. It was waking up early even when she was tired. It was holding families together with patience when everything felt like it was falling apart. It was enduring, without losing her sense of self. From her, I learned that strength doesn’t always roar, sometimes, it whispers, ā€œkeep going.ā€

It was about being self-sufficient, standing with your children through good and bad  keeping your head held high, although you are drowning in life’s  many storms.

She also taught me resilience. Life didn’t always treat one kindly, but she never let hardship define or redefine her. Instead, she adapted. And rebuilt.

She found ways to smile in moments that could have easily broken her. Watching her showed me that resilience isn’t about avoiding pain it’s about rising through it.

Love, as she showed it, was not always understandable or just words, it was actions. It was in the meals prepared, the late nights spent worrying, the small sacrifices no one else noticed. Her love was consistent, even when unrecognized.

From her, I learned that real love is not always glamorous, but it’s steady, patient, and enduring.

Another lesson that shaped me deeply was self-respect. My grandmother carried herself  with dignity, regardless of her circumstances. She taught me that how you see yourself determines how the world will treat you.

Most of all she taught me about faith about the love of God, and the importance of having a relationship with God, and in the belief that tomorrow could be better. Even in uncertainty.

Now faith has become a foundation on which I  stand on, especially during moments when life feels unclear and unbearable.

Looking back, I realize that everything I am is rooted in everything she was. The lessons didn’t come wrapped in perfect words, but in real-life experiences, raw, honest, and powerful. And now, those lessons live with in me.

Because of her, I know how to stand tall, how to endure, how to love deeply, and how to keep going, no matter what.

Her legacy isn’t just in the memories. It’s in who I’ve become, who I am as a mother.
